Here in Ohio, our charitable giving and our service to others continue to be the shining examples of that “Light of the World”. We should be proud of our state wide charities and our charitable service to the church and less fortunate. And this includes our unwavering financial support for many agencies around Ohio that serve our citizens with developmental disabilities.
We hope “The Light of Ohio” State Program will help guide your council in conducting numerous service activities for our Parishes, our 370-plus Councils, our Families and Youths, and our Communities. And along with membership growth, we hope to increase the number of Star Councils in Ohio, which is awarded to a council that meets Supreme Council’s goals and objectives of an active council.
I ask you to join with me, our state officers, our directors and our district deputies during these two years of our journey to be that shining “Light of the World” here in Ohio. The “Light of Ohio” State Program will demonstrate our commitment to charity, show all Catholic men who we are and give them a reason to join with us in showing our “good deeds and glorifying our Father in heaven”.
